The brand new WNC Military History Museum will hold it’s Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, August 25th at 10am.

It is located at 21 East Main St., in Brevard, right next to the Transylvania County Courthouse. The hours of operation will be Wed. through Sat. 10am-4pm, and Sundays from 1pm-4pm.

Group tours can also be arranged by request. The museum provides an avenue for people to appreciate and honor the men and women who served so bravely in all branches of our Armed Forces, highlighting WWI, WWII, The Korean War, The Cold War, The Vietnam War, The Iraq War, and The War in Afghanistan. It features original newspapers, personal letters, one-of-a-kind artifacts, uniforms, weaponry, etc. In addition, lectures will be given on many aspects of military life and history, movies for patron’s enjoyment will be offered on a monthly basis, and special exhibitions by outside organizations and private collectors will be featured.
