IEA: United States to Dominate World Energy Market Within Eight Years

The New American – According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the growth of energy production in the United States, doubling as it has in just the last eight years, is expected to double again in the next eight. Authors of the IEA’s annual World Energy Outlook report released on Tuesday could hardly contain their surprise: “A remarkable ability to unlock new resources cost-effectively pushes combined United States oil and gas output to a level 50% higher than any other country ever managed; already a net exporter of [natural] gas, the U.S. becomes a net exporter of oil in the late 2020s. In our projections … the rise in US tight oil output [fracking] from 2010 to 2025 would match the highest maintained period of oil output growth by a single country in the history of oil markets.”

The U.S. production increase makes up an astonishing 80 percent of the increase in oil production expected from all oil-producing countries combined. This, according to IEA, will have the beneficial effect of keeping oil prices “lower for longer … within a $50-70/barrel range [all the way out to] 2040.”

NC Representative Larry G. Pittman Update

November 16, 2017

It has been several weeks since I have given you an update.  Interesting things have happened so far during the interim, especially in our special sessions.

On October 5, the House passed HB 717 Judicial Redistricting & Investment Act with a vote of 69-43.  This bill addresses the need for correcting imbalances and lack of resources that have resulted from population increases and a general lack of attention to the efficiency of judicial districts across the State for about sixty years.  Rep. Justin Burr of Stanly County worked diligently on this bill, traveling all across the State to meet with judges and District Attorneys to learn their concerns and needs for a more efficient judicial system in the State.  His work should be appreciated.  Of local concern to my constituents, I worked with Rep. Burr to add one Superior Court Judge, one District Court Judge and two new Assistant District Attorneys to the Cabarrus district through this bill.  I really appreciate Rep. Burr’s willingness to hear from our judges and District Attorney Roxanne Vaneekhoven, as well as from us Legislators in the district, and to address our concerns as he has done.  I was glad and proud to support this bill.  Now, we are waiting for the Senate to act on it in the next special session, which will convene on January 10.

Under Republican leadership, we have been working for the last several years to reduce bureaucratic red tape on businesses in our State through regulatory reform.  SB 16 Business Regulatory Reform Act of 2017 was another step in that process.  It had passed the House 94-19, and Gov. Cooper had vetoed it.  The Senate and House both overrode the veto.  The vote in the House on Oct. 5 was 70-42.  I was one of the 70.

There has been an ongoing effort to free local governments from having to put certain public notices in newspapers and simply publish them through electronic media.  There is no consensus on this; so it has been difficult to do.  So a local bill for Guilford County, SB 181 Electronic Notice – Guildford County, was offered this year.  The House passed this bill by a close vote of 58-87 on October 5.  I voted for it.  It is now law in that county.  We’ll see how that goes and possibly move the effort forward elsewhere in the State later.

The Electoral Freedom Act of 2017, HB 656, was one with which I had some problems because I felt it lowered standards too much.  I did not vote for the bill originally.  The conference report made it even worse, in my estimation, by reducing the percentage required to avoid a primary runoff from 40% to 30%.  I vehemently disagree with this provision.  So I voted no on the conference report on Oct. 5. However, we were told that we will have an opportunity to correct this in the January special session, and a lot of my constituents wanted the original bill to be passed.  So on October 17, I voted to override the governor’s veto, and it was overridden in the House by a vote of 72-40.

In addition to these matters, I am serving as an Advisory Member on the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Education and the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Emergency Management.  There are some very serious matters for both of these committees to consider.  I’ll try to tell you more about that later, but there may be some things I cannot discuss.

The matter of Legislative Redistricting within the State is still a bit uncertain.  We are waiting on the courts to finish their rulings on the maps adopted by the Legislature.  I voted against these maps because they are unconstitutional.  Our State Constitution calls for us to redraw the maps after each census.  This year is four years early.  There are other objections being raised by the Democrats.  I particularly object to the changes made in Cabarrus and Rowan Counties because the lawsuit against the existing districts did not mention those.  Therefore, there was no justification for changing them.  It remains to be seen where all of this will end.  For now the court has ordered that a master map maker from California should redraw our maps.  I have heard that he has completed that redrawing, but I have not yet seen the result.  I’ll let you know more about this as the matter progresses.

For now, I wish you the Lord’s great blessings and a very Happy Thanksgiving.

God bless,

Rep. Larry G. Pittman

France: Escalating Muslim Anti-Semitism. Which non-Muslim peoples are next?

Gatestone Institute – “My mother said that Arabs are born to hate Jews.” — Abdelghani Merah (brother of Mohamed Merah, a French Muslim terrorist who murdered seven people), speaking on French television.

“I heard with my own ears, Mohamed Merah’s mother saying: “in our religion it is permitted to kill Jewish children.” — Mohamed Sifaoui, journalist and director of a documentary on the Merah family, on Canal+ TV.

Incidentally, while Abdelkader Merah’s trial was underway, the headstone of Ilan Halimi — a Jew tortured to death in 2006 — was desecrated and broken. By whom? Guess.

In France, any public mention of Muslim anti-Semitism can lead you to court. In February 2017, the scholar Georges Bensoussan was sued for “incitement to racial hatred” because he mentioned in a radio debate how vastly widespread anti-Semitism is among French Muslim families.

Climate Change: Science versus Politics

Dr. Dan’s Freedom Forum – For centuries, human beings, inquisitive by disposition and design, have sought to understand the workings of the natural world in which they live. Scientists, observing these same events, are driven by the demands of scientific inquiry to study natural events and explain how they occur so that this knowledge can be used to improve the human condition.

Scientific ExperimentTo begin the process of scientific investigation, scientists make an “educated guess,” or hypothesis, to explain the observed activity. It is, however, not sufficient to propose the explanation without proving its accuracy. An experiment must be carefully designed so that the results will either support or disprove the truth of the “educated guess.” As the experiment proceeds, data is collected, analyzed, and conclusions are reached in an orderly process.

Critical and essential steps to the scientific method include verification that the experimental process was conducted objectively, and the overall outcome must be derived from unbiased analysis of the raw data, free from prejudicial influence. Upon completion of the experiment, the raw data must be available for scrutiny by all, and other scientists must be able to reproduce the process and conclude the same result.

Initially, “global warming” was the term used for human induced increases in Earth’s temperature. When it became common knowledge to the rest of the world that plant Earth warmed and cooled in cycles, it wasn’t long before global warming enthusiasts found themselves defending their position. Behind closed doors, a new name was conceived, and, today, the human race faces the same theory under a different name, “climate change.”

Supreme Court to Consider California Law Forcing Pro-lifers to Promote Abortion

The New American – The Supreme Court announced Monday that it has agreed to hear a case challenging a California law requiring crisis-pregnancy centers, under the threat of heavy fines for noncompliance, to tell their clients how to obtain state-subsidized abortions.

The case, National Institute of Family and Life Advocates v. Becerra, charges that the Golden State’s Reproductive FACT Act violates the First Amendment’s guarantees of freedom of speech and religion by forcing pregnancy centers to disseminate information that violates their religious beliefs.

The law passed the California legislature in 2015 on a party-line vote — Democrats yea, Republicans nay — and was signed by Governor Jerry Brown, also a Democrat. As The New American reported at the time, the act mandates that pregnancy centers offering medical services either post or distribute to their clients the following notice:

California has public programs that provide immediate free or low-cost access to comprehensive family planning services (including all FDA-approved methods of contraception), prenatal care, and abortion for eligible women. To determine whether you qualify, contact the county social services office at [insert the telephone number].

Rep. Meadows on ABC This Week

Washington, D.C. – On Sunday, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) appeared alongside Rep. Peter King (R-NY) on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos. The two members discussed the new GOP tax reform proposal, which is going through the committee amendment process beginning today.

“It’s a work in progress,” Meadows said, but “preliminary numbers look very good in terms of economic growth. As I have looked at this particular bill, it appears that we should be able to get a 3.5 to 3.6 percent bump in GDP growth. When we do that, it means higher wages and a stronger economy.”

Meadows once again addressed the concern on increasing the deficit in the short run, reiterating that while he would prefer to cut both spending and taxes, the economic growth and relief for working families is worth the short-term exposure.

“Over a longer period of time, some 10 to 15 years, we believe that the economic growth will outweigh any short-term deficit increase that we see,” said Meadows, “so even though we’re looking at increasing the deficit in the short run, over a 15-year period, we could have these tax cuts paid for because of economic growth.”

Learn about the Democratic Socialists of America

The information below is from

There are Four Charters in North Carolina they are: Asheville DSA Organizing Committee, Charlotte DSA Organizing Committee, Piedmont DSA (including the Triangle and the Triad) and UNC Chapel Hill YDS.

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is the largest socialist organization in the United States. DSA’s members are building progressive movements for social change while establishing an openly democratic socialist presence in American communities and politics.

At the root of our socialism is a profound commitment to democracy, as means and end. As we are unlikely to see an immediate end to capitalism tomorrow, DSA fights for reforms today that will weaken the power of corporations and increase the power of working people. For example, we support reforms that:

  • decrease the influence of money in politics
  • empower ordinary people in workplaces and the economy
  • restructure gender and cultural relationships to be more equitable.

We are activists committed to democracy as not simply one of our political values but our means of restructuring society. Our vision is of a society in which people have a real voice in the choices and relationships that affect the entirety of our lives. We call this vision democratic socialism — a vision of a more free, democratic and humane society.

In this web site you can find out about DSA, its politics, structure and program. DSA’s political perspective is called Where We Stand. It says, in part,

We are socialists because we reject an international economic order sustained by private profit, alienated labor, race and gender discrimination, environmental destruction, and brutality and violence in defense of the status quo.

We are socialists because we share a vision of a humane international social order based both on democratic planning and market mechanisms to achieve equitable distribution of resources, meaningful work, a healthy environment, sustainable growth, gender and racial equality, and non-oppressive relationships.

DSA has a youth section, Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA). Made up of students from colleges and high schools, the Youth Section works on economic justice and democracy and prison justice projects. It is a member of the International Union of Socialist Youth, an affiliate of the Socialist International. The Youth Section meets several times during the year.

A GREAT REASON to Stop the So-Called Convention of States Movement!

The New American – Communist Sympathizer Mag “The Nation” Backs Convention of States. It’s finally happened: The radical Marxist left has realized that they can implement their agenda by amending the Constitution through an Article V convention. Still think a convention of states is a good idea?

The archliberal rag The Nation magazine, known for its historical denial of communist atrocities — such as the Cambodian genocide — and not knowing a Marxist-Leninist dictator that it didn’t heap with adulation in its pages, has just published a screed with the subtitle, “To fix our broken system, we need a new constitutional convention.”

The article begins by taking note of the recent “Balanced Budget Amendment Planning Convention” (BBAPC) held at the State House of Representatives in Phoenix, Arizona, and touted by its event planners — the BBA Planning Convention Committee — as the first of its kind in over 156 years.

“In recent years, states have called conventions on various topics from the monetization of silver to free trade. However, the delegations were not required to be authorized by both Houses to speak and vote on behalf of the State,” the BBAPC said on its webpage, hosted by the Arizona state legislature. “The last convention to have that level of authority was the Washington Peace Conference of 1861, where the states attempted to avert the Civil War.”

Like many on the left, The Nation is no particular fan of the BBA, believing that it would lead to the “almost immediate contraction of the federal government” and make it “Powerless to borrow its way out of a recession.” In fact, the opposite is true — as The New American has previously explained — seeing as how virtually every proposed version of the BBA includes escape clauses that would make it constitutional for federal expenditures to exceed revenue during a time or state of emergency, such as the 32 separate states of emergency that are currently in place. Furthermore, no proposed BBA addresses or prohibits unconstitutional spending, which is the real issue with the budget that needs to be addressed. If anything, the so-called conservative BBA would likely result in either constitutionalized unbalanced budgets during times of national emergency or tax hikes if the amendment’s mandate of balancing the budget is actually adhered to ……… click here to read more.

Primer in Constitutional law – Congress’ enumerated powers

Canada Free Press – By Publius Huldah —— Bio and Archives–October 17, 2010

1. With the U.S. Constitution, We The People created the federal government. It is our “creature”, and has no powers other than those We granted to it in The Constitution.

Webster’s American Dictionary of the English Language (1828), says re “constitution”:

…In free states, the constitution is paramount to the statutes or laws enacted by the legislature, limiting and controlling its power; and in the United States, the legislature is created, and its powers designated, by the constitution.

If you, dear Reader, will study this paper and read the Constitution, you will know more about it than most State & federal judges, most law professors & lawyers, most who spout off on TV & radio, and anybody in Congress (except for Michele Bachmann and perhaps a few others). And you will certainly know more than anyone currently occupying any office in the executive branch of the federal government.

2. The federal government * has three branches: Article I of the Constitution creates the legislative branch (Congress) & lists its powers; Article II creates the executive branch & lists its powers; and Article III creates the judicial branch & lists its powers.

In this paper, we will consider only the enumerated powers of Congress. But the powers of the other two branches are likewise strictly limited and enumerated.

3. Congress is NOT authorized to pass any law on any subject just because a majority in Congress think the law is a good idea! Instead, the areas in which Congress is authorized to act are strictly limited and defined (“enumerated”). Article I, § 8, grants to Congress the powers:

To lay certain taxes;
To pay the debts of the United States;
To declare war and make rules of warfare, to raise and support armies and a navy and to make rules governing the military forces; to call forth the militia for certain purposes, and to make rules governing the militia;
To regulate commerce with foreign Nations, and among the States, and with the Indian Tribes;
To establish uniform Rules of Naturalization;
To establish uniform Laws on Bankruptcies;
To coin money and regulate the value thereof;
To fix the standard of Weights and Measures;
To provide for the punishment of counterfeiting;
To establish post offices and post roads;
To issue patents and copyrights;
To create courts inferior to the supreme court; and
To define and punish piracies and felonies committed on the high seas, and offenses against the Laws of Nations.

What did the poll find?

The poll, conducted by research firm YouGov, found that 44 percent of millennials would prefer to live in a socialist country, while 42 percent would prefer to live in a capitalist country. Another 7 percent said they would prefer to live in a Communist country.

The poll noted that the percentage of millennials who prefer socialism to capitalism is a full 10 points higher than the general public.

NY Times Promotes Antifa-Communist Coup Effort Against Trump for Nov. 4

The New American – “This Nightmare Must End: THE TRUMP/PENCE REGIME MUST GO!”

So declare the opening lines of a full-page advertisement in the New York Times promoting mayhem and insurrection for this Saturday, November 4.

“Nov. 4 It Begins,” the ad continues. “Join with the thousands who will gather in cities and towns across the country. A movement of protests that continue every day and night, growing until we become millions… determined now to stop until this regime is driven from power.” (See the full ad below.)

The advertisement directs readers to go to, “To Find a Protest Near You.” At the website, information on planned Nov. 4 “protests” can be found for Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Austin, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, New York City, Omaha, and other cities.

The New York Times, of course, knows — even if many of its readers do not — that Refuse Fascism is a front group founded and run by the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP), a violent Marxist-Leninist group that idolizes China’s Communist mass-murderer Mao Zedong. Which makes the Refuse Fascism appeal to “humanity” doubly ludicrous and doubly offensive. “NO! IN THE NAME OF HUMANITY WE REFUSE TO ACCEPT A FASCIST AMERICA!”, the ad declares.

Redistribution Fails

The FEE – Why Won’t the UN Tell Us What Really Reduces Poverty?

If we want to help the poor, we must know what really lifts people out of poverty. And it’s not top-down programs.

Earlier this month, the United Nations urged the world to celebrate the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, advertising it on social media using the hashtag #EndPoverty. The UN noted the incredible progress on the issue:

Poverty has declined globally, from 1.7 billion people in 1999 to 767 million in 2013, a drop in the global poverty rate from 28 percent in 1999 to 11 percent in 2013. The most significant progress was seen in Eastern and South-Eastern Asia, where the rate declined from 35 percent in 1999 to 3 percent in 2013.

Unfortunately, the UN seems to misunderstand the source of that progress. It argues that government action and top-down technocrat-led programs are to thank for poverty’s remarkable decline. The UN statement continues:

Countries have taken action to end poverty… The Government of Tanzania, for example, started a massive overhaul of its current national programme, the Tanzania Productive Social Safety Nets, to reach people living below the food poverty line.

Trump Is Quietly Deregulating All the Things

The Fee – Most people alive in America today have probably never had the experience of sending a telegram. There are a host of reasons for this, the main one being that the telegram stopped being fashionable decades ago as burgeoning technology replaced its use in the modern world. The very last Western Union telegram was sent 11 years ago.

Over a decade too late, the FCC has finally decided to end burdensome regulations that stifled telegraph technology. As Reuters reported:

AT&T Inc, originally known as the American Telephone and Telegraph Company, in 2013 lamented the FCC’s failure to formally stop enforcing some telegraph rules.

‘Regulations have a tendency to persist long after they outlived any usefulness and it takes real focus and effort to ultimately remove them from the books even when everyone agrees that it is the common sense thing to do,’ the company said.”

Regulations are far easier to create than they are to dismantle. As Milton Friedman said, “Nothing is so permanent as a temporary government program.” Yet lately, there has been an undeniable trend of repealing these types of regulations, the likes of which America hasn’t seen since the Reagan Administration. And in the spirit of giving credit where credit is due, this current regulatory rollback is due largely to President Donald Trump.

Regulations are far easier to create than they are to dismantle.

US Leaders Again Fail to Protect Citizens Muslim Kills 8 in NYC

US Leaders Again Fail to Protect Citizens Muslim Kills 8 in NYC
Today in New York City, a muslim jihadi plowed a truck into people killing 8 and injuring approximately 11 others.
He did not do it because he doesn’t have a good job or because he lacks education or because of Israel or because of the lack of McDonald’s in his home country.
He did not do it because he is “deranged.”

He did it because 100% of Islamic doctrine (sharia) mandates jihad (warfare against non-muslims) until the world is under Islamic rule.

How much longer will Americans tolerate the killing our citizens by muslim jihadis?
How much longer will Americans tolerate leaders like New York Mayor De Blasio who coddle, pander to, and support the leaders of jihadi organizations and then feign surprise when jihadis do what Islam commands them to do?
How much longer will Americans tolerate leaders like National Security Advisor Herbert McMaster whose words reveal his utter ignorance of Islam and the threat it causes, and his inaction leads, again, to the death of American citizens?
The US v Holy Land Foundation trial was the largest terrorism financing and Hamas trial ever successfully prosecuted in American history.  The evidence in this case, after a 15 year FBI investigation, reveals there is an Islamic Movement in the United States led by the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood whose stated goal is to overthrow the U.S. government and create an Islamic State under sharia – same goal as the Islamic State and Al Qaeda.
The evidence also reveals that all of the prominent Islamic organizations in the United States are a part of this Movement including, but not limited to:  the majority of the over 3100 Islamic centers/mosques, Islamic Societies, Muslim Students Associations, Muslim American Society, Muslim Public Affairs Council, Islamic Circle of North America, Council on American Islamic Relations (Hamas), Students for Justice in Palestine (Hamas), and others.
The majority of the over 3100 Islamic centers/mosques and all of the prominent Islamic organizations in the United States teach muslim children and muslim adults the same things the Islamic State and Al Qaeda teach their fighters – that jihad is warfare against non-muslims and is obligatory until the entire world is under sharia (Islamic law).
These Islamic sites are the incubators for jihadis just like:  the Islamic Society of Boston supported the Boston marathon bombers; the Islamic Center of Nashville and the local MSA supported the Little Rock, Arkansas jihadi; the Dar al Hijra Islamic Center (Falls Church, VA) and the Islamic Center of Southern California supported 9/11 hijackers and Ft Hood jihadi Major Nidal Hasan; the Islamic Society of Chattanooga supported the jihadi who killed our men in uniform; and on and on it goes.
These places need to be raided, shut down, their leaders arrested and their assets seized.
Leaders like National Security Advisor Herbert McMaster, New York Mayor De Blasio, and others like them  have a professional duty to know these easily identifiable threats and do not.  Now – AGAIN – Americans are dead because of their unprofessionalism – the legal definition of criminal negligence.
We put doctors and lawyers in jail for this, and it is high time our local and federal leaders whose unprofessionalism leads to American deaths go to jail for it too.

Reminder: House Freedom Caucus Launches Discharge Petition to Repeal Obamacare

Breitbart – House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-NC), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), and other members of the Freedom Caucus filed a discharge petition on Friday to repeal Obamacare.

The Freedom Caucus filed a discharge petition a few weeks ago that would put a clean repeal bill of Obamacare before the House floor. Now that the Freedom Caucus put the bill on the House floor on Friday, conservative members can start gathering the necessary signatures to force the House to vote on the legislation. The discharge petition would require 218 signatures from members of Congress to force the House to vote on the bill.

The legislation drafted by Rep. Jordan mirrors the clean repeal bill of Obamacare in 2015, which passed the House and the Senate and would have become law if there were a Republican in the White House. In the following weeks, the Freedom Caucus will petition fellow members of the House to sign the petition. The legislation proposed by the Freedom Caucus would repeal most of Obamacare by the end of 2018, allowing lawmakers ample time to draft a free-market alternative to the Affordable Care Act.

Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows charged, “It’s critical that we keep our promise to the American people and repeal Obamacare and replace it with a policy that works for American families. We cannot drag this process out any longer. This bill – with a two-year delay on implementation of repeal – will force Congress to come together on a replacement bill. President Trump is eager to sign repeal and replace, it’s time we get to work and send both to his desk.”

Make America Great Again

This week marked Ronald Reagan’s Tax Reform Act of 1986 and the start of one of the longest economic booms in American history. Unfortunately, since that time our government officials have let us down and we have reverted to becoming one of the highest taxed nations in the developed world. But, President Trump plans to change that. In promoting his historic tax plan, The President said: “The tax cuts and reforms of the 1980s show that when we empower the American people to pursue their dreams, they will not only achieve greatness and create prosperity beyond imagination, they will build an entirely new world.” Hard working Americans desperately need tax cuts to begin recovering from our decade of economic stagnation. It is time we ignite America’s middle-class miracle once again.

Make America Great Again

President Trump hosted Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore, at the White House this week. The leaders highlighted the strong relationship between our two countries, demonstrated in the purchase of 39 Boeing wide-body aircraft by Singapore Airlines, valued at $13.8 billion dollars! And all that money comes straight to Boeing, right here in the USA. Singapore has been an anchor for the presence of the United States in the Indo-Pacific, underpinning regional peace and prosperity for the region and the United States. We look forward to President Trump’s historic trip to Asia next month, including stops in Japan, Vietnam, South Korea, the Philippines, and China where he will build positive alliances with our other allies in the region.

Make America Great Again

Preliminary data indicates that approximately 64,000 Americans died last year of drug overdoses in the United States, the majority of them from opioid abuse. That’s nearly 100 Americans, on average, who die each day from opioids, robbing so many of our youth of their potential. This is a genuine crisis that President Trump is working tirelessly to address. And this week, the President declared it a public health emergency prompting states across the country to act more rapidly to combat this epidemic. As a Nation, and with the support of President Trump, we can come together to save lives and end this crisis once and for all.

Trump Pence Make America Great Again

On Monday, President Trump awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor to retired Army Captain, Gary Michael Rose. From September 11 through September 14, 1970, Captain Rose repeatedly ran into enemy fire to provide critical medical aid to his partners, using his own body on one occasion to shield a wounded American from harm. “[Y]our will to endure, your love for your fellow soldier, your devotion to your country inspires us all,” the President said. “Nations are formed out of the strength and patriotism that lives in the hearts of our heroes.”
